MESSENGER RNA
Messenger RNA (mRNA) contains instructions on protein synthesis. It helps to transfer them from DNA to the protein synthesis apparatus in a cell, ribosome. Every three successive bases of mRNA, called a codon, define one amino acid residue. RNA molecule is formed as the result of transcription of one gene.
