MEIOSIS II
Meiosis II (second division of meiosis) is the second stage of meiosis. During this stage in both daughter cells, which resulted from the first division of meiosis, separation of chromatids takes place. The second division of meiosis is very similar to mitosis. The only differential peculiarities are high isolation of sister chromosomes in metaphase (metaphase II) and haploid number of chromosomes. Similar to mitosis, meiosis II is subdivided into prophase (prophase II), prometaphase (prometaphase II), metaphase (metaphase II), anaphase (anaphase II), and telophase (telophase II). Sometimes the first two stages drop out.
Prophase II is the first stage of the second division of meiosis. It follows a short resting stage, during which synthesis of DNA does not happen. Prophase II is short - the nuclear membrane disintegrates, when new spindle is formed.
