CRISTAE
Cristae (Lat. crista - crest) are multiple crestlike protrusions of the inner mitochondrial membrane into matrix. Cristae can have the form of plates or tubes; they can be formed in the longitudinal direction, not in diametrical. Their number and form depend on the types of cells, in the mitochondria of which these cristae are formed.
