SEDIMENTATION COEFFICIENT
Sedimentation coefficient is a measure of size and form of macromolecules. It is counted by placing macromolecules into very strong gravity field produced by a centrifuge. Sedimentation coefficient is expressed in Svedberg units (S): 1S=10-13 sec., and the rate of setting of macromolecules in this or that solution is measured in the definite gravity conditions.
