ZYMOGENIC FERMENT STRENGTH REGULATION

Regulation by zymogene activation is one of the types of ferment strength regulation. Zymogene is an inactive predecessor of a ferment. Zymogene can turn into a ferment, if a part (or, parts) of its polypeptide chain is detached by another ferment. This process is called zymogene processing. The essence of zymogene processing lies in the fact that the ferment is activated by another ferment, which acts as a regulator.
