ELECTRON TRANSFER
According to the P. Mitchell’s chemosmotic hypothesis, electron transfer along the electron-transport chain results in transport of protons through the hydrophobic barrier of a membrane. There are several classes of electron transfer models: stochastic models, quantum-mechanical models of migration of electronic excitation, and electronic migration models. Semiconductor model of electronic migration on large intermolecular distances in the conductivity band of a crystal lattice is well known in physics. In this model donor molecules and acceptor molecules can occupy levels of the donor admixture and acceptor one, correspondingly.
