CENTRIOLES
Centrioles (usually there are two of them) are near the nucleus. Each centriole is constructed of cylindrical elements (microtubules), which are formed as the result of polymerization of the protein tubulin. Nine triplets of microtubules are place in a circle.
Centrioles participate in formation of cytoplasmic microtubules during cell division, and in regulation of the formation of the mitotic spindle. There are no centrioles in plant cells. The mitotic spindle is formed there in a different way.
