ACTIN
A protein of muscle fibres, actin (its molecular mass is 42000 D) constitutes 5 to 15% of total cell protein. It is the most important protein in eukaryotic cells. It exists in two forms, fibrillar (F-actin) and globular (G-actin). Intracellular movement starts when actin microfilaments interact with myosin.
