RESTING STAGE

Resting stage is one of the stages of the cell cycle. This is the period of time between two divisions of the nucleus. It includes stages G1, S and G2. Usually it takes at least 90% of the duration of the whole cell cycle. The resting stage starts with stage G1, when intensive processes of biosynthesis, which slow down during the mitosis, activate again. Stage S is the period of DNA synthesis. It finishes, when the amount of DNA in the nucleus becomes doubled, and chromosomes are completely replicated. After that the cell enters stage G2, which finishes with the beginning of mitosis.
