PROKARYOTES
Prokaryotes (procaryotes, prokaryotic micro-organisms) are a group of living organisms. The group includes one-celled bacteria. A cell of such organism does not contain a membrane-bound nucleus (or any other compartments, such as mitochondria, chloroplasts, etc.). Its chromosomes are in the cytoplasm.
